Board and Train

I offer both a 16 day and a 21 day beginner training program. Learning how to establish leadership with your dog through behavior modifications and teaching impulse control is the base of my training program. My focus as a trainer is starting puppies young. This is the time to give the pup a good foundation based on leadership and brain work! I also focus on working with dog and children interactions ensuring a good family relationship!

Early issues such as housebreaking and crate training are covered through phone consults prior to the board/train program. These consultations are set up by appointment so that we make sure we cover any problems before they get out of hand! Behavioral issues addressed in the beginner program may include, stealing, counter surfing, jumping, mouthing, etc. Your pup will also join me on field trips to various local locations (the coffee shop, walks in town, forest preserve and walking trails) so he or she learns how to behave in a variety of situations. The board/train takes place in my home versus a kennel situation. This means that your dog is cared for 24 hours a day-just like home! I do not employ any outside staff- your dog is treated just like our own dogs. Learning and living in our home is advantageous as I can work on issues you may be having related to your home environment.

Dog socialization is also an integral part of the program. Dogs have a minimum of 5 hours a day playtime . This also grants me the opportunity to work on social behaviors and fix problems before they get out of hand. When the training is complete, we have a post program review lesson. During this review lesson I teach you how to reinforce commands and incorporate what your puppy has learned into your individual household. This session is approximately 1 hour long and takes place on the end date. Please inquire for current fees and scheduling.
